Baptism

BAPTISM is birth into the new life in Christ. In accordance with the Lord's will, it is necessary for salvation, as is the Church herself, which we enter by Baptism. Congratulations on taking the first steps for your own Baptism or that of your child's!

Here is our current Baptism Procedure:

Schedule a meeting by calling (785)565-5000.
- Receive a folder of information which includes:
  - Baptism Requirements
  - Rite of Baptism
  - Precepts of the Church
  - Why Have your Child Baptized
  - Godparent Responsibilities
  - Godparent Eligibility Form

- Reborn presents the foundation of the Church's teaching on Baptism, with a step-by-step explanation of the rite itself, including it's profound place in Scripture and Tradition.
- You may sign up for a free Formed.org account, simply using your name and Seven Dolors as your parish- you can do that here
Submit documentation to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., mail or drop off at the Parish Office prior to Baptism.
- Documents include:
  - A copy of the child's Birth Certificate
  - Both Godparent Eligibility forms, one of which must have a Priest's signature, and the Seal from that parish(Original copy to be sent or dropped off).
  - An online Baptism Records Form will then be forwarded to you, complete and return.
  - Finalize details for the special day.
