"The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist" (CCC 1322)

The Salina Diocese is changing the order sacraments are currently received (Baptism, First Eucharist, Confirmation) to restored order.

Restored order is the practice of administering the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist - in the original, theological sequence; preparing each Christian soul with the graces of Baptism and strengthened by Confirmation for the reception of the Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life. The full initiation into the Catholic faith by these sacraments provides a firm foundation for the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ. In the Salina Diocese this will eventually move the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist to Grade 3. To read more about Restored Order: Salina Diocese Sacramental Preparation

As Seven Dolors Parish moves toward this restoration:

  • For the 2026/2027 school year 
    • Grade 2 will receive First Reconciliation
  • For the 2027/2028 school year 
    • Grade 2 will receive First Reconciliation
    • Grade 3 will receive Confirmation and Eucharist

REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. 

  • Child must already be baptized in the Catholic Church.
    • If child has nob been baptized or not baptized in the Catholic Church, you will need to contact the parish office.
  • Children requesting First Reconciliation/First Eucharist will need to be registered and attending Religious Education or enrolled at MCS.
    • If your child is attending Manhattan Catholic Schools, you will need to complete the Religious Education Registration Form: English or Spanish. Please note that this completes all the required information we need and does not require your child to attend Wednesday evening religious education classes, however, they are welcome to join the Wednesday evening classes.
    • If your child is registered for Seven Dolors Religious Education classes, your registration form is already on file.
  • A Sacrament Information Form (see below) will need to be completed for each child requesting Confirmation.
    • If your child did not receive Baptism or First Communion at Seven Dolors, you will need to provide a copy of these certificates. If you do not have a certified copy (bearing the parish seal), you can contact the parish of baptism and have them send a baptism certificate with notations to: Seven Dolors, ATTN: Deb Price, 731 Pierre St., Manhattan, KS 66502
